So, Wednesday was my second day as an intern at Big Frame, and it just so happened to be the Big Frame Town Hall meeting! This is an opportunity for all of the signed Talent to come in, meet with everyone, and be updated on where Big Frame stands today as well as it’s future endeavors. Coming in fresh off the boat, this was an extremely beneficial chance for me to see everything and everyone. Not to mention, there were a few individuals who I had recognized from their channels! After setting up some chairs and food, I was ready to begin greeting people and then checking the tweets with Michelle. As an intern, sometimes things happen and you are needed to do something last minute and important! I had a very interesting yet comical job Wednesday night.
Destorm, a YouTube rapper and entertainer, has a single out called “Instagram.” One of his friends on a big hip-hop satellite radio station told him that he was going to play his song from 7-8pm. Since his song would be played to millions around the country, Destorm sought it critical to have as many people as possible call in to the radio station and notify them that they support and really enjoyed the song. If enough people do that, who knows where Destorm could go! However, since the meeting was from 6-8pm, Destorm was going to miss it. That’s where my job came in. To balance both tasks, Destorm had me go into his car and listen for his song while he attended the meeting. That way, he could text his support base when to call in, as well as hear everything from the meeting. Although it might seem like a silly job, I actually enjoyed it. Listening to a rappers song, while in his car, is a pretty cool thing. Sure, I was listening to it on a CD, and they never played his song, but it was still cool to meet his assistant and I’m glad I got to help him in the event that they played his song to millions!
